About

The Medical University of Warsaw is truly a European University, where the education is based on European and International educational standards. The international cooperation is one of the most important elements of the university’s educational strategy.

The University participates in many international programs providing the exchange of students and academic teachers, as well as in sharing scientific and research programs.

The Medical University of Warsaw has established successful cooperation with 29 European universities within the Socrates/Erasmus program and with 8 Central European institutions within the CEEPUS program. Participation in these programs enables students to gain new experiences with the international scientific community, which will without a doubt play a significant role in their future and professional practice.

The University participates in MEDINE – Thematic Network on Medical Education in Europe which addresses educational, institutional and quality issues in European medical education, and in the DentEd III Thematic Network project which aims to further harmonization of dental education in Europe.

Understanding the challenges initiated by the Lisbon Convention and the Bologna Declaration on the main role of education and research in Europe, the University’s objective is the implementation of its main principles.

The Medical University of Warsaw has also managed to establish a recognized international position in research, both in clinical and theoretical medicine. It has scientific research cooperation with many universities and research institutions in Europe, especially Germany, France, Sweden, Netherlands, Austria and Great Britain. At present this cooperation is also being developed with other foreign partners from Europe, USA and Asia – China, India, Malaysia and Japan.

Our University is an individual member of prestigious international organizations such as: UNESCO, EUA (European University Association), AMEE (Association for Medical Association in Europe) and ECTS-MA (ECTS-Medicine Association). Participation in these organizations is a forum for the exchange of information, as well as educational and scientific experience, between its members.
